What I have learned during this semester.

I have learned more about technology and how we can use it to teach. I have also learned how to creat a blog, because I didn't have one before. It was funny to creat stories for children and to put the pictures on FLICHR.

To conclude, the best was to put a story on Voicethread because not only you can put comments but you can also put audio records.

Speakers: Karen Bosh and her 5^th Grade class.

In this video the teacher shows a new way that the 21 century teachers use to teach. She uses her iPhone to teach in class and there is an App for everything that she teaches. For example to do researches on the internet, post a picture of a science experiment, record podcast and check the location and the weather for a trip and also sent instant updates to the parents back home. It can directly published photo, video and voice on her students store class website.

I find it incredible to teach only with an iPhone. And it reminds me the topic of technology that we work on in class. Technology allows teacher nowadays to teach in new ways, and make it easier for teachers but also students.

Personally I think that it is a great idea to teach with a cell phone if it can make things easier. Because it can be helpful, it is little and you can bring it everywhere. Supposing that you have your lesson in it, it would not be necessary to take your note book everywhere you go. I have a BlackBerry and it helps me a lot. I also use it like a USB key, I usually put homework that I must give in on it and print them. It also enables me to present power point presentation.

To conclude I think that technology provides us new tools for the everyday life but also for teaching.

We have the Campus of China and the Campus of Malaysia.

2)       What type of program does the University have for students from abroad?
It has International Exchange Programs for Erasmus.

3)       Who is Simardeep Singh, what does he study and in which University?
He is an Erasmus and he studies pharmacy in the University of Nottingham.

4)       What did Malaysia allowed him to do?
It allowed him to get new experience of new culture and new way of life.

5)       When did he go to Malaysia?
He went there in the second semester of his previous year.

6)       What was difficult for Simardeep?
His difficulties were the cultural bases in communicate with other students.

7)       in what was he interested while he was there?
He was interested in the country and in its back ground.

8)       What was he able to do?
He was able to go to a few country and broaden his arises.

Part two: Sophie Herner
       9)       Where did Sophie did her exchange programs? In which country and city?
In the university of Nottingham in Ningbo, China.  

10)   What were the advantages for her in China?
She had the chance to visit a lot of city while being in China.

11)   How did she found the city itself?
She said that it was quite small and compact.

12)   What for information did she had and her relations with others?
She knew how everything was, she knew a lot of people. Everything was accessible and the relations were comfortable and friendly.

Part three: Angus Davidson
 13)   Who is Angus Davidson? Which University did he visit and in which country?
He is an Erasmus and he visited the University of Copenhagen in Scandinavia.

14)   Why did he choose this University? Give two reasons.
Because he wanted to study in Europe, he knew a lot about Copenhagen and he had been already there.

15)   What was his primary reason for going there?
Because there is a good lawyer University there and he studies law.

16)   What didn’t he have?
He didn’t have A level language, so he picked one up while he was there.

17)   How was the relation with people of there?
Angus said the people were friendly and open minded. He also said that he learned a lot of things while he was in Scandinavia.

18)   What about the University and the courses?
He said that the University was helpful and the courses were sort of small, simple on base former and conducive to a higher standard of learning.

19)   Which type of exams did he have?
The exams were oral and completely different skills and useful.

20)   How was the city for Angus and what was his advice according to Copenhagen?
He said that it is a vibrant city. There were many places to go out and so much to do. His advice is that you should visit Copenhagen even if you are not an Erasmus.

Hello! This is Andrew , he likes to play football. he is 12 years old. He plays for a team of New York City.

He spend a lot of time at the football pitch and trains with his coach and friends , Andrew doesn't love to do his homework. The only thing that he does is playing football.

One day his mother told him that if he continued like that he will never play football again.

Andrew became sad and cried all the day.

The second day Andrew decided to do his homework because he didn't want to stop playing football.

So Andrew learned to continued his homework. he realized that his passion is important as school is important.

Speakers: Pam Grossman, PhD, Nomellini Olivier (Professor of Education Faculty Director, CSET); Ann Jaquith, PhD, (Director of leadership for Excellent Teaching CSET); Emily Davis, PhD (Director of Partnership School Induction Program).

This video is about Stanford Summer Teaching Institute (SSTI), it’s divided into four parts.

In the first part Nomellini Olivier talks about CSET (Center to Support Excellence in teaching) and explained that to be on the top or on the bottom of a class depends on, the difference between having a good teacher and a weak teacher for three years in a role.

Ann Jaquith said that CSET involves how to support excellence teaching and the kind of leadership it need after the different level that can support high quality in every classroom.

The second part talks about the opportunities of SSTI. SSTI is an opportunity for teacher to continue deepening their own understanding, at the content that they teach and teaching itself.

Faculty comes also from across to the University to teach SSTI for Science, for English and for History.
Some of the SSTI courses are three or four days long, but also two weeks long. They are courses where teachers get the opportunity to rehearse and to plan for the use of these particular institutions or strategies. Or even leadership strategy in the institute itself. It is a way for teachers to get feedback on how to improve what it is that they are planning to do in their classroom or school context.

The third part is about SSTI Leadership for learning workshop and team-based classes.

It is called the Leadership for learning course. It is a course where they ask teams, teachers or teams of the ministry to come. It has two primary goals: 1: to develop an instructional leader team that has a share division of what instructional excellence is in their school. 2: to teach team instructional leader about the sources they need in order to support excellent instruction at their school.
The proses of these courses are that leadership teams begin to actively engage and building resources that they are going to need to support excellence teaching.

In the last part they talk about SSTI Continual Support.

Most of the SSTI courses have fall-up opportunity throughout the year, where teachers come to the institute. For example they come back together again to talk about the ideas and the strategies they tried out and that worked in the content of realize situation. The institution wants teachers to share what they have learned with their colleagues to continually improve the learning opportunity for students.
SSTI is long term and it gives teachers the opportunity to engage in professional development and the target that they need. Teachers get feedback and support that they need to improve their teaching at learning.
Nomellini Olivier argued that it is impossible for teachers to get a higher quality intellectuality challenges and experiences for students in their classroom if they don’t continue to engage an intellectuality challenging.

To conclude, SSTI is ongoing nourishment that teachers need to keep their classroom vibrate, and to make it excited for kids.

I hope you are enjoying the weather because it was a sunny day today. I had to put my glasses on and took a walk with some friends. It was cool :).

I was thinking,why do I want to be a teacher. Did you ask yourself why do you want to be a teacher?

First of all I want to be a teacher because I love that job, I imagine myself before a classroom. It seems so exciting. I am passionate about teaching and working with children. I think that I can be a good teacher and I wish to give back some of the happiness that I enjoyed during my school years. A teacher is important because everyone has progressed to where they are in life thanks to him or her. The teacher is the one who gives instruction and communicates skills. He prepares his students for the future so that they can be successful in the working world.

What is technology?

First of all technology is a source of knowledge used to creat tools, develop skills, and extract or collect materials. It is also related to science.

The uses of the term have increased throughout the twentieth century in a way that it can be devided in diffrent classes of technology. Such as

1) Technology as Objects:

Tools, machines, instruments, weapons, appliances-the physical devices of technical performance.

2) Technology as knowledge:

The know-how behind technological innovation.

3) Technology as activities:

What people do-their skills, methods, procedures, routines.

4) Technology as a process:

Begins with a need and ends with a solution.

5) Technology as a sociotechnical system:

The manufacture and use of objects involving people and other objects in combination.

Secondly technology is a creative process which helps people to utilise tools, resources and systems to solve problems.

I think that nowadays people are living from technology. People develop it and use it to make things more and more sophisticated.

Technology is mostly related to computers. It is a way to make people persevere in life.
